2017 Ducati SuperSport and SuperSport-S made their debut at Intermot Motorcycle show in Germany last year. Now launched in India and open for booking at all dealerships.
Italian superbike manufacturer Ducati has launched their new Supersport in two variants, with the SuperSport at Rs 12.08L and SuperSport-S at Rs 13.39L in India (ex-showroom). Both bikes have the same engine and gearbox but the only differentiated in terms of suspension and some other features.
The Ducati’s new SuperSport is a motorbike which draws comfort and versatility making it a badass sports bike. It is agile on the urban road and enjoyable on highways. Built on Ducati trellis framework, the new SuperSport range gets 937cc Testastretta 11-degree L-twin engine that produces 110 bhp at 9,000 rpm and 93 Nm at 6,500 rpm of peak torque. The Ducati SuperSport comes matted with a 6-speed gearbox and gets revised crankcase and cylinder heads. The same engine is deployed in the Hypermotard 939 and Multistrada 950. The weight is measured at 210 kg.
Both SuperSport comes with Ride-by-Wire and 3 types of riding modes like Sport, Touring, and Urban and also comes with Bosch 9MP ABS and Ducati Traction Control to enhance the performance and modify the behavior of the motorbike. The Ducati’s SuperSport standard variant gets 43 Marzocchi front forks and a Sachs monoshock rear unit.The SuperSport-S variant uses a fully adjustable Ohlins suspension setup at the front and rear, Ducati Quick Shift up and down system, which is race-derived technology and other features remain same on both models.
Ducati’s both SuperSport and SuperSport-S are equipped with a single-sided aluminum swingarm. The braking duties are handled by twin 320mm discs up front and a single 245mm disc at the rear. Some additional features like height adjustable Plexiglas screen, 16-liter fuel tank, 3 spoke wheels with Y-shaped spokes, LED daytime running headlights and full LCD instrumentation is also an outstanding feature in the superbike.
The Ducati SuperSport will compete with the sport tourers like the Kawasaki Ninja 1000 and Suzuki GSX- S1000F. The SuperSport will available in colour options – Red and white. For the moment the deliveries for the SuperSport will begin in red shade colours, whereas the stare white silk colour will be available from November onwards.
