The all-new 2018 Range Rover Sport SVR has crushed Ferrari 458 Italia’s record for negotiating the 99 corners on the Tianmen mountain roads in China.

The most powerful Range Rover Sport SVR SUV set a new record for raced to the top of China’s Tianmen Mountain which is 11.3 km long and comprises of 99 corners, bypassing some of the steepest climbs and surprised everyone by the time it set. It is considered as one of the most dangerous roads in the world.

The Range Rover Sport SVR had the Panasonic Jaguar racing driver Ho-Pin Tung behind the wheel while the Ferrari was driven by Fabio Barone Mihaela, Ferrari’s fan club President.

With Jaguar racer Ho-Pin Tung in the driver seat, the badass Sport SVR managed to set a time of 9 minutes and 51 seconds for the 11.3km with an averaged speed of 68.9 kmph as against the Ferrari 458 Italia’s time of 10 minutes and 31 seconds while navigating one of the most treacherous road in the world. One mistake and you feel thousands of feet down the valley.

The new 2018 Range Rover Sport SVR has got some recent updates which have made the SUV more powerful and the Sport SUV was capable of such outstanding performance. The all-new Range Rover Sport SVR is powered by a 5.0-liter V8 engine offering 557.8 bhp peak torque. The major updates of Sport SVR are the new front air inlets, stiffer suspension and added lightweight materials to enhance performance, carbon fiber bonnet, agility, and handling. Interior, the new SVR Sport seats provide extraordinary support to the driver with traditional Range Rover super luxury with Windsor leather, an embossed Range Rover logo and a choice of 4 colour combinations. The overall effect of Sport SVR is the 280 kmph top speed and a 0 to 100 kmph time of 4.5 sec.
