The MITSUBISHI XPANDER MPV Crossover revealed at the 25th GAIKINDO Indonesia International Auto Show(GIIAS). The car is expected to be launched in India by 2018.

Mitsubishi Motors Corporation (MMC) has taken the wraps off its brand new MPV Crossover calledMitsubishi Xpander. The Mitsubishi Xpander is one of the most fuel efficient crossover MPV and it’s based on the Mitsubishi XM concept that made its debut in this show last year. The Mitsubishi Xpander will lock horns with Maruti Ertiga, Honda Mobilio, Renault Lodgy and Honda BRV.

The Mitsubishi Xpander’s most unique advantage is its looks, which are highly-stylised and well crafted for a car in this same class. The Xpander is a boxy design and it comes with Mitsubishi’s ‘Dynamic Shield’ design which gives it bold and imposing look up front. The headlamps and turn indicators are placed in the front bumper while the cluster flanking the grille is for LED pilot lamps.

At the rear, the MPV gets L-shape LED tail lamps and roof mounted spoiler. The car comes with a heavily sculpted wheel arches along with a shoulder line that starts from under the A-pillar and wraps around the tail lamp.

Get in to the high cabin and you’ll see a combination of dual tone high contrast interior with black-beige, save for the Sport trim which will get an all-black cabin. The steering wheel has been adopted from the Mirage, while the instrument console resembles from the Pajero. The top-end variant features keyless entry, telescopic adjustable steering, push start button, colour LCD multi information display, hill start assist and brake assist. It also adds some other features like reverse parking camera and touchscreen only to the top-end trim. The Xpander has seating capacity for seven persons in a 2-3-2 layout.

The Mitsubishi Xpander is powered by a 1.5L 4-cylinder MIVEC engine that produces 105hp and 141Nm of torque with 5-speed manual and 4-speed automatic transmission options. The car is 4,475 mm long, 1,750 mm wide and 1,700 mm tall.

As per the media reports, Mitsubishi Xpander will be priced between Rs 8.00 lakh to Rs 12.29 lakh. Prices are yet to be revealed.
